Law360 Names Silver Golub & Teitell a 2026 Connecticut Regional Powerhouse

Law360 profiled Silver Golub & Teitell (SGT) as one of its 2026 Regional Powerhouses. The profile highlights a year in which SGT won a $49 million medical malpractice verdict for a Connecticut woman whose cervical cancer went undiagnosed for years, secured privacy settlements against Google on behalf of children, and took a leading role in litigation over toxic chemicals in firefighter gear.

Law360 described SGT as a firm that takes on fewer cases than many of its competitors. It does not advertise for clients, and it focuses on serious matters that can make a real difference for the people it represents and for society. Managing partner Peter Dreyer told Law360 that the firm commits whatever time and resources a case demands. "That is the culture of this firm," he said.

Class Action Practice That Is Local and National

Partner Ian Sloss, who co-manages the firm's class action practice, told Law360 the firm focuses on cases of national importance that touch on Connecticut. He traced SGT's reputation to founding partner David Golub's representation of Connecticut in tobacco litigation. It also grew through the firm's work for victims of Bernie Madoff and for more than 70 Connecticut municipalities seeking to recover Enron-related losses. 

The profile covers SGT's current work, including:

• class actions against Aquarion and Connecticut Water on behalf of customers whose drinking water was allegedly contaminated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
• a $30 million settlement with Google and YouTube, and an $8.25 million settlement with Google, in cases alleging the companies collected data from children under 13
• privacy litigation against Apple over its Siri voice assistant
• a securities class action against Digital Currency Group

Landmark Medical Malpractice Verdict

In April, SGT won a $49 million verdict in Connecticut Superior Court in Stamford. The jury awarded $39 million to a patient whose doctors failed to follow up on signs of cervical cancer, and $10 million to her husband. Dreyer told Law360 that Connecticut jurors understand a person's life is worth far more than a paycheck.

Law360 also noted the launch this year of SGT Docket Rocket, a free public tool that monitors Connecticut court dockets and alerts users to new filings and calendar changes.
