For nearly five decades, Silver Golub & Teitell LLP (SGT) has represented Connecticut individuals and families whose lives have been changed by catastrophic injury or the loss of a loved one. We take on cases involving the most serious injuries and losses.

These cases take years of work, not months. They demand deep investigation, expert medical and technical development, and the willingness to try the case to a jury. That is the work we do, and we do not cut corners.

How We Prepare Your Case

We accept a small number of medical malpractice and serious personal injury cases each year, so each one gets the attention and resources it needs. When we accept a case, we commit to the best possible representation, without regard to the time or expense involved. We do not take cases in hopes of a quick settlement.

Experts

Every case raises its own questions, so we select experts case by case. An experienced physician works closely with our attorneys on each medical malpractice case, and we search nationally for physicians, surgeons, and other specialists with experience in the particular medical issues involved. Depending on the case, we also retain accident reconstruction experts to help us determine how an incident occurred and biomechanical engineers to help us analyze the forces involved.

We prepare just as carefully to show what the injury or loss means for our client’s life and future. Medical specialists and life-care planners help us assess ongoing and future care needs, and economists help us value financial losses, including future care costs and lost earnings. We also develop evidence of the effects on daily life, independence and relationships.

Preparing for Trial

Before trial, focus groups show us how Connecticut residents like those who will sit on the jury respond to the evidence, and we refine how we present the case. We prepare every case for trial and pursue the resolution that best serves our client.

This approach has produced some of the largest verdicts and settlements in Connecticut history.

Results depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

Many of our clients come to us on the recommendation of former clients and other lawyers who understand what these cases require.
