Sarah (Ricciardi) Russell is a civil litigator with extensive experience in both federal and state court representing individuals who have been harmed by medical malpractice, product defects, physical and sexual assaults, and motor vehicle collisions. With a background in film and television, Sarah has a unique understanding of the importance of persuasive storytelling in the representation of injured individuals and their families, which has been an integral part of her practice.
Sarah helped secure one of the largest verdicts in Connecticut history, a $49 million medical malpractice verdict on behalf of a woman and her husband arising from the failure to properly screen for and diagnose cervical cancer. The verdict included a $10 million award for loss of consortium, the largest such award ever in Connecticut.
In addition, she has helped secure nearly $100 million dollars in settlements and mediations on behalf of her clients, including a wrongful death matter that settled during jury deliberations for $19.75 million. In addition to obtaining fair compensation for her clients individually, Sarah also promotes her clients’ interests through the submission of amicus briefs on behalf of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Before joining the firm, Sarah clerked for the Honorable Alfred V. Covello in the U.S. District Court in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
