Silver Golub & Teitell Named Class Actions Litigation Department of the Year in 2026 New England Legal Awards

Silver Golub & Teitell (SGT) has been named Litigation Department of the Year for Class Actions in Law.com's 2026 New England Legal Awards. The firm was the sole recipient in the category. Managing partner Peter Dreyer was named a finalist for Legal Innovators and Disrupters and partner Sarah Russell was named a Connecticut Rising Star.

The New England Legal Awards recognize attorneys and firms across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Honorees and finalists will be celebrated at a gala in Boston on October 8, where winners in finalist categories will be announced.

The recognition practice follows a year in which SGT's class action lawyers secured a $30 million settlement with Google and YouTube on behalf of children whose personal information was collected without parental consent, a case that produced a landmark Ninth Circuit ruling opening the door for families to recover damages under state law for conduct that violates the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Managing partner Peter Dreyer was named a finalist for Legal Innovators and Disrupters. In January, SGT launched SGT Docket Rocket, a free application that gives attorneys and the public near real-time alerts on Connecticut court filings and orders. Mr. Dreyer led the project with partners Sean McElligott and Ian Sloss, and the firm made it available to the legal community and the public at no cost.

Partner Sarah Russell was named a Rising Star for Connecticut. Russell represents people harmed by medical malpractice, product defects, physical and sexual assaults, and motor vehicle collisions. She helped secure a $49 million medical malpractice verdict this year for a Darien woman whose cervical cancer went undiagnosed.
