June 21, 2019

Stamford Advocate, STAMFORD, CT (June 19, 2019) — Richard A. Silver, a senior partner at Silver Golub Teitell, recently received the Connecticut Law Tribune’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Among his most-significant litigation, Silver was lead counsel in cases stemming from the 1983 Mianus River Bridge collapse and, with his partner, Angelo Ziotas, secured a $38.5 million trial award in a birth-injury malpractice case.

A longtime Stamford resident, Silver serves on the board of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and co-chairs its Medical Malpractice Committee. He has taught trial practice at Yale Law School and serves on the advisory board of the Quinnipiac Law school.

He has written a number of articles and lectured extensively for the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association on medical malpractice, proving damages, products liability, structured settlements, business torts and commercial litigation.

Silver’s other accolades include his citation on the Best Lawyers in America list — under personal injury, medical malpractice and product liability litigation — for the past 25 years. He is also a long-running honoree on the Connecticut Super Lawyers list.

His community-service endeavors include support of the Silver Educational Center at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, which is named after his family.
