Ernie Teitell

Ernie Teitell’s professional qualifications are clearly reflected by his experience of having practiced both criminal and civil law during his 40-year professional career.  Some of the cases in which he has been involved are represented below.

What sets Ernie apart is the humanistic approach he takes with every single case.  No one understands the devastating impact of life-altering events better than an attorney who spends many months, often years, dealing with a case.  Extended exposure to the ravages of medical malpractice, defective products, catastrophic vehicle collisions and most poignantly, sexual and spousal abuse, has made him a fierce advocate for those whose lives have been irretrievably altered.  This passion fuels his drive for excellence and his commitment to remaining compassionate and truly listening when dealing with the victims of traumatic, and often life-changing, events.

Ernie takes the greatest pride in his cases that have truly made a difference, like the family that established a foundation that has brought about significant changes in state regulations that mandate safer pools and equipment.  He believes that a family like this teaches him what it really means to be a lawyer – to do work that brings positive change and makes the world a better and safer place.

To underscore that belief, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law for more than 25 years and currently teaches the course in Medical Malpractice.

He was recently named by Best Lawyers as the "Lawyer of the Year for Medical Malpractice Law -- Plaintiffs, Stamford, CT, 2021" (an honor he also received in 2019, 2017, 2015 and 2012).  Previously, he was named by Best Lawyers as the "Lawyer of the Year for Personal Injury Litigation -- Plaintiffs, Stamford, CT, 2018" and received the same honor in 2014.

Angelo A. Ziotas

A partner at Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, Angelo A. Ziotas focuses his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. Since 1998, he has been certified in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and he is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Rhode Island, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Ziotas represents clients throughout Connecticut from the firm’s main office in Stamford.

Mr. Ziotas’s personal injury clients are people who have suffered harm as a result of the negligence of other parties. Many of his cases have arisen out of incidents involving medical malpractice, and he has been able to secure millions of dollars in compensation for these clients through both jury awards and settlements that he has negotiated outside of court with defendants and their insurance companies. In one such matter involving a birth injury, Mr. Ziotas secured a verdict of $38.5 million to compensate a child who incurred severe neurological damage during the delivery process.

Outside of the medical malpractice area, Mr. Ziotas has handled personal injury cases involving premises liability and truck and motor vehicle crashes, and he has met with similar success, including a $10.4 million settlement for a child who suffered a severe brain injury after nearly drowning at a summer camp that was supervised by municipal employees. He has also worked on business litigation and insurance bad faith matters, and his superb track record in all of these endeavors has earned him numerous honors, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law.
