After 45 years, Stamford law firm moves office

By Paul Schott | Stamford Advocate | STAMFORD, CT (Updated: February 19, 2022) — Trial-law firm Silver Golub & Teitell has announced that it has leased 11,500 square feet across the entire 15th floor of the downtown office tower at 1 Landmark Square.

The firm is moving its Stamford offices after 45 years at 184 Atlantic St., which stands a block from Landmark Square.

“Our law firm has always sought to provide our clients with the best representation possible,” Silver Golub & Teitell co-managing partner Peter Dreyer said in a statement. “While it is true that we have operated effectively with a significant portion of our staff working from home, we represent people who have suffered serious injuries or lost their loved ones. It is very hard to do this without building trust and forming a personal bond. There are no substitutes for in-person meetings with our clients.”

Real estate services and investment-management firm Colliers’ executive managing director and market leader, Jeffrey Williams, and associate director Hollis Pugh represented Silver Golub & Teitell in the leasing negotiations.

About 35 employees will be based in the new offices. Ahead of its move-in to 1 Landmark, Silver Golub & Teitell is occupying temporary offices at 4 Landmark. It also maintains offices in Danbury, Hartford and Waterbury.

The firm’s practice areas include medical malpractice, personal injury, class action and complex litigation.

“We have also spent decades building a firm culture emphasizing collaboration and where we view each other as close friends or family. The benefits we get from being in the office together far outweigh the costs,” Dreyer said. “I do not think we are alone in having these views — which explains why the demand for office space is increasing. We have very deep roots in this community and are thrilled to be able to continue our long-standing presence in the center of Stamford.”

In southwestern Connecticut, demand for office space has rebounded from pandemic-era lows, according to Colliers data. In 2021, leasing volume in Fairfield County totaled about 2.4 million square feet, jumping 49 percent from 2020.

“This lease is evidence of continued strong demand for high-quality office space in Stamford,” Williams said in a statement. “The recent heightened activity from pandemic-fueled interest in the suburbs together with pent-up demand is a good indicator that the market is showing signs of recovery and stability.”
