It is hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I was president of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA)! That was the year we first moved to Water’s Edge for our full day meeting; the Workers Compensation Committee was formally created to recognize the work being done by the folks in that part of our organization; we established the practice of holding meetings all over Connecticut in law offices, bars and restaurants in Waterbury, Danbury, Litchfield, New London, Willimantic, etc., to talk about cases and issues, schmooze and enjoy the local "experiences." I made so many new friends and acquaintances -- that was my favorite part of being president.
I am very proud of how important CTLA has become and how important it continues to be. We all enhance CTLA whether by mentoring new bar members, volunteering to help with special events, sharing our case experiences with each other and stepping up when needed to help in CTLA efforts to create and maintain a more just society by preserving individual rights within the justice system.
