Richard A. Silver To Be Honored At SilverSource Charity Golf Outing On June 10

May 2, 2019

STAMFORD, Conn. (May 2, 2019) -- On Monday June 10, Richard A. Silver, senior partner of Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, will be honored at the 19th Annual SilverSource Charity Golf Outing. The tournament, which will be held at Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford, CT, raises funds for the SilverSource “Ride to Wellness” and “Senior Housing Stability” programs.

Silver, a longtime Stamford resident, has earned the highest respect and admiration from members of the bar, as evidenced by his numerous accolades, including two lifetime achievement awards by the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Law Tribune.

Throughout his distinguished career, Silver has tried many high-profile, landmark cases, including in his role as lead counsel in the Mianus River Bridge collapse trial and his pro bono work representing prisoners at Danbury Correctional Institution to eliminate overcrowding. Many of his cases have had far-reaching effects, including changing the way bridges are now built, and impacting medical treatment practices.

“If you’re interested in making changes in life, litigation is a way to do it,” said Silver, who has been trying cases since his very first week as a practicing lawyer. “As a trial lawyer, you can directly help people and accomplish something.”

“This is our annual “Drive for Seniors” supporting our ‘Ride To Wellness’ program, which provides medical transportation that helps seniors maintain good health while removing the cost of transportation as a barrier to care, and our housing stability program which provides critical financial assistance for seniors at risk of institutionalization, homelessness and elder orphans who need community support,” said Kathleen Bordelon, Executive Director of SilverSource.

“I’m impressed with the immediacy of the action SilverSource takes in helping people. Their lives are improved and that is directly attributable to SilverSource’s prompt care,” said Silver.

“We are excited to honor Mr. Silver at this year’s outing,” said Bordelon. “A talented and effective lawyer, Mr. Silver embodies the passion and dedication we appreciate as professionals dedicated to advocating for vulnerable seniors who need a champion.”

Participants who attend the tournament will enjoy a full day of golf and the chance to compete at the beautiful Rockrimmon Country Club, called a ‘hidden gem’ by Golf Magazine. Numerous competitions will take place, such as “Closest to the Pin,” “Longest Drive” and others. Prizes, auction items, brunch, a cocktail reception and dinner round out this magnificent day for a great cause. Registration is going on now; visit https://silversource.org/golf/ or call 203-324-6584 for additional details. Generous sponsorship packages are also available.

SilverSource would like to thank its generous event sponsors, including First County Bank, Silver Golub & Teitell, Building and Land Technology and media sponsor, Stamford Magazine/Moffly Media.
