Family of Greenwich Woman Killed While Walking Dog Sues Driver

November 27, 2023

Silver Golub & Teitell has filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the estate of Donna Berry, a 63-year-old woman who was fatally injured in March when she was struck by a car in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The lawsuit alleges that the driver of the 2016 Lexus was negligent in crossing the yellow line, running off the road and colliding with Ms. Berry, who was standing with her dog in a grassy area off Weaver Street, near the intersection of Hawthorne Street North. Ms. Berry survived in hospital for three days before succumbing to her injuries.

“We obviously can’t reverse what happened, but we are committed to helping Ms. Berry’s family seek full accountability and closure through this process,” said Silver Golub & Teitell partner Paul Slager, who brought the lawsuit along with Nicole Coates of the same firm. Joel Robinson, a litigation partner at Robinson Yablon Cooper & Bonfante in New York, also represents Ms. Berry’s family.

The lawsuit, Berry v. Remesic, was filed in Superior Court in Stamford on October 11, 2023, seeking damages on behalf of Ms. Berry’s estate.
