Committed to the Legal Profession

Ms. Brandt is active in several professional organizations.  She currently serves on the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA).  Ms. Brandt founded the CTLA Women’s Caucus and served as past chair of the Women’s Caucus, American Association for Justice (AAJ; formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association).  She is a member of the AAJ’s Professional Negligence Section and Birth Trauma Litigation Group. She is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys. In 2005, Ms. Brandt was honored to receive the New Leaders in the Law Award, given by the Connecticut Law Tribune, for service to the bar.  In 2009, she was the recipient of the CBA Ladder Award.  In 2010, the AAJ honored Ms. Brandt with the Weidemann & Wysocki Award in recognition of her support for improving the civil justice system.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Brandt worked for many years as a registered nurse in both New York and Connecticut. She has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society of Nursing, since 1990.
